We are in the midst of having our carpet replaced.
I am pulling out all the F-ugly old carpet and underlay and screwing the floors down with deck screws.
Everything has been going well until I ran across the stair problem...
There are particle-board risers, and I don't know how to make them quiet unless I replace them with plywood.
The stairs are old-school 10" ( true 10" ), not your average 2 x 10 or such.
I have pondered glues and such, and even replacing the s***ty wood with plywood, but need your expertise before I make a mess of this.
So, can you help us?
