Cool Vancouver International Boat Show - SETUP PICS

I wonder how many of my fellow aqua enthusiasts are also boat lovers?

The Vancouver Boat Show is coming up in early February and I just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know about it. We are back this year in the beautifully renovated BC Place and I for one am excited to see how all our boats look under gorgeous new roof! (not to mention how much easier it will be to set up without the hassle of those airlocks)

The dealership I work at has had a stall there for 15 years now and this year is no different. I will be working as a salesman durring the show and would love to be able to put some faces with the names I see on a daily basis so come find me at the Galleon Marine and come see our stock Maybe I can convince you to walk away with a new toy! I'll do my best to try and give a BCA discount, but something tells me the sales manager is not going to really go along with that! lol

Do we have any boaters here on BCA?

I usually work the night before event. Not sure if with new management we will have it. I bet they will look fantastic. I love the new roof and no air locks even though we still call it the east air lock. lol

Well I've spent all week at work preparing a few new boats for the show!
So far I've got a Campion Explorer 602 Center Console rigged up with a brand new Yamaha F250 Offshore, as well as a Lowrance HDS-5 gps/sonar and a pumping Clarion stereo system.
Second on the checklist is a beautiful Campion Explorer 682 with twin Yamaha F150s and all the bells and whistles!
The third project this week was a massive Harbercraft Kingfisher 2725 with a Yamaha F250 on it with a 10" HDS-10 GPS screen to go along with all the functionality of a large aluminum fishing machine.

    Pics to come!

Can't wait for the show My favourite time of the year! Lots of work, but also lots of fun.

yes it is true... the process is called electrolosis. It takes some explaining but the short version is that the zinc is more active than the aluminium so it corrodes away before the aluminum does. They are called SACRIFICIAL ANODES.

But.... if she is just going to go in to the salt water for just a day trip it's not a big deal... the electrolosis happens mainly when the boat is docked in salt water and is stationary.

What she should do if going into the ocean is just to flush the motors out with fresh water when the boat is pulled out of the water... or else run it up the river a bit so that you get all the salt water out of the engine block.

I spent all day cleaning and towing boats downtown to the staging area in preparation for setup on Monday! The show starts on Wednesday and I would love to see some BCAers out there!

    Bump for Boating!

Setup day one complete, here are some early shots of our booth 1/2 way through the setup. Big thanks to Ben for all the help so far.
