Default Metallic blue super delta betta

I'm assuming it is a metallic blue s.d. betta... if someone knows better, please let me know! This is our one fish... that's an anubias in the foreground (our one plant) in a 3.3G plastic tank. He's moving to a Fluval Ebi as soon as the newly siliconed foam backdrop cures

    Shooting solution: 35mm | 1/250 | f8 | ISO100. Lit by remotely triggered 580EXII speedlites on either side, manual, 1/16th.

Very nice fish with great colour. The masking indicates that there was metalic at some point in his lineage. However, it's now known that the metalic trait can be bred out and it can be impossible to tell without knowing his genetic background and oftentimes breeding him to a copper and perhaps a steel female. lol.

To comment on the photography; do a close up crop. The healthy plant detracts from the beautiful betta. :P Also, does he appear this colour in normal lighting? I have this feeling that he is more blue than green in person.

Hey thanks! He does appear far more blue than green, the only thing I can think of is that it was the speedlite bouncing off the plant; nice pick-up on that

I think this is a more accurate colour rendition of him:

Shooting solution is the same as above.

Thanks too for letting me know what kind of betta he is... didn't come with a label except that he's an SD. I got him from IPU, my daughter picked him out and promptly gave him a girl's name. Poor sod... but he's a lively & very happy little fella, has been building bubble nests non-stop.
