    October Update

So my discus have laid for a third time. Everything still seems to be running smoothly. Noticed quite a bit of algae on the wood after missing a water change but right after getting back on water change schedule most of the algae died off.

That is to be expected. The male is probably too young. Usually when they reach around 12-18 months fertility will increase.

    November Update:

So they continually lay eggs but no hatching yet. Everything has been steady as usual but I've noticed they are less shy than before now.

    December Update:

Well looks like we've reached the last month of the contest. It has been a great pleasure raising my discus and watching them grow.

I am fortunate to have them all still alive with a somewhat lax approach to maintenance. I do not age my water, it comes directly from tap via python hose. I add Prime and 4 tablespoons of epsom salt every water change. I always watch my babies for a while after doing a water change to ensure there are no issues.

    Last pictures for the contest:

Laid eggs just an hour ago! This time on the heater.

Thank you everyone who has been following my journal
