    Cool 6 discus in a bowfront. Grow-out contest

    So the day we have been prepping and eager for (some way more then others.. hehe.. ) is finally here.
    I had a little mishap with a leaking tank. But Nick is such an awesome boyfriend he found me a 29 bowfront ( more like he wanted it for his rams but i pulled rank with the discus) he will get it back eventually.

    what i have going on in the tank is a bare-bottom 29 bowfront, Ac70, elite 150w heater (tempoary) a elite 799 airpump, and some java fern and another high heat plants attached to some lava rock. i haven't found the driftwood i want to attach the java fern to yet.


    planning on feeding mainly frozen bloodworms, misis shrimp and live baby brime shrimp. we are going to pick up some pellets for a here and there feeding.
    we may also try our food making skills and make some food for them.

    right now I am slowing getting them use to my water. we are on well water so our Ph is really high (7.4) but i get 0 nitrites or annomia in my water so that is awesome!

    Looks great!! It won't be long til they are cruising around happy and hungry. Took mine a whole 3 hrs - after an hour transport and an hour-ish acclimatizing.

    ...And it's nice to see someone else almost as eager as I am
    25gal - 6 discus in the grow-out contest

    90gal Planted- 2 Angels, buncha Silver Tip Plecos, 3 Uaru kids, 3 Geos, a fire Eel, an adult keyhole cichlid, - and Roy the whiptail catfish
    20gal rimless Planted- 4 German Blue Rams, 2 Cobalt Blue Balloon Rams, 5 dwarf ballon parrot fry, 5 green severum fry, and a little BNP

    Looking good. Nice to see people not just putting them in a glass box with nothing but a sponge filter in the middle. Makes maintenance a bit more work, but sure is nicer to look at.
