    Default Scherb's Discus Journey :) Update # 7

Hello. So my Discus journey begins. I had a bit of a ruff start with equipment, i had my tank empty and i thought i was plugging in my light, but a minute or so later i smelt something burning, oh crap i plugged in my heater and melted the holder arms. luckily the heater was ok. and then later i accidentally dipped the end of my light fixture in the water. it seemed to be fine but a bit later my brand new little glow bulb went poof. Nice. oh well at-least the Discus look good. So here is some info and pics.

    20g tank
    temp 86
Ph 6.8 out of the tap
    Nitrite 0
    Nitrate 0
    Ammonia 0
    300 watt heater
Coralife 7 psi Luft air Pump
Filter. i have these little filters that are air driven but i have no media in them.
Food. Frozen blood worms, Brine shrimp, Discus pellets, and some beef heart i will try in a while
Feeding times. 2 to 4 times a day
Water changes about 90% a Day. Today i drained it down to about 2 inches left.

Thanks for viewing and Good Luck to all. Cheers

Excellent looking set up and great water change schedule! If I can offer one piece of advice it would be to get the temperature up into the 29C-31C range. Small discus won't do well long term at lower temperatures but they thrive at high temperatures. Good luck in the contest!
