    Default Catfish story - May/13/2011

Finally, it went to a cat fish hobbyist. This is one of the bigger one. It measured at 7.5" to the fork of the tail, not including the traitor. It was nice and fat.

Though the story did not stop there. This customer of mine, has purchased quite a few cats from me. A very good guy, and I love to go fishing with you by the way, that can make some amazing pilewood tank. About 4 months or even longer ago, he purchased a group of my last false jaguar catfish. Since then, I have not gotten any.

Today, I was taking apart the whole tank trying to catch some fish. I lifted up a piece of wood, big piece of wood (mopani), and let it sat on top of the glass top. And for some reason, I kept hearing grumping noise. I kept checking around and I could not find anything. Finally, before I put the wood back in, I heard the grumping noise coming from the wood.

I checked and checked every where, and there was a false jaguar cat in the wood. It was in there for months without me noticing it at all.

So I thought what will be better to show appreciation to my customer, I packed the false jaguar and gave him the single fish so it can join the group of his as a gift.

Finally, the long lost cat can meet the rest of the group instead of hiding out in a piece of wood... No wonder why my small fish keep missing...

That's a hilarious story. Kind of like how I thought I had lost an L114 and 6 months found this huge one beside the new one I bought.

Same thing happened to a group of midas cichlids that I got from Kole back in 2009. My other monster fish ate the rest of the bigger 3-4" midas and the runt of all of them which was 1.5" managed to hid itself behind the powerhead and survived for 3 months without growing. Took the lil' fish and grew it out to 8" and still alive till today. Now it's 13.5".

I managed to get some pics of the tigrinus , but the false Jag just joined up with the rest and is getting along just awesomely, he is a bit smaller than the others and is easy to tell from the others, but almost all mine are in spawning colours right now so again easy to spot him, will try to get a video of the feeding tonight so I don't miss him again with the picture mode.

Turn your Volume off, I forgot to turn off the tv in the other room and damn that mics good.

This Video shows a Regular Male False Jag cruising.

In this super quick one, you'll see him just under the wood, than the Blue water cat comes in who's only 1 inch longer but same width.

I took some pics but they ain't much better.
