Default New Shrimp food and mineral rock available!!

Shrimpball food (really, they do form a ball of shrimps as they love this food). I've fed these to all my shrimps and they all eat it. Fish and other invertebrates also eat it:

    30g pack cost $11
    50g pack cost $16

    Mineral rock:

    30g pack cost $9
    50g pack cost $13
    75g pack cost $16

I'll have pictures soon. You won't believe it until you actually see it in person. I've fed them to my yellow, pearl blue, crystal reds, crystal blacks, gold bee, tiger, red cherry, amanos, as well as my mixed shrimps and they all eat it.

Here's a few of my yellow and crystal black/reds. Keep in mind that these tanks have very few shrimps in them and that all the shrimps were on or near the food after a few minutes.

Here's a few more pictures...red cherries, and more crystals and pearl blues:

It's usually 10 grams for each 10g tank however I know a lot of people who add a lot more than that to help bring out the white and conditions the water for proper molting and exoskeleton strengthening in shrimps. I'm not 100% sure on their true effects as I just started using them myself, however, I do know a lot of shrimp keepers/breeders who use it.

As for the Fluval stuff, I'm not sure as I have never used it nor know of anyone who has as I think it's pretty new.

I have a container of the Fluval shrimp mineral additive that Petah's talking about. It's a liquid that you add during water changes to increase the mineral content, something like Replenish but with shrimp specifically in mind.

Patrick, is your mineral rock something that you put into the tank and just leave there, to dissolve slowly over time? That would probably be cost effective. Is there any way to overdose if you put too big a piece of rock into your tiny shrimp tank?

I think the EBI mineral is to help with molting also. I think i saw this item on Sakura site and it mentioned something along the lines of not worrying about overdosing if you put too much in. That the shrimp can only benefit from the mineral rock.

    Sorry, it's Shirakura.

The liquid you are talking about you can overdose because it raises your GH, mineral rocks are there for them to pick on before they molt if they need that extra push. If algae grows on it take it out and brush it with a toothbrush gently to renew it.

The mineral rock you just toss in the tank and there's no worries about overdosing. It slowly over time dissolves but takes a really long time unless your pH is super low. In fact, I've seen my shrimps pick at it..lol

There's a few breeders who use a few mineral rocks at a given time so I'm guessing they are not too worried about over dosing.

    The shrimp food is ShimpLab.
