The Anaconda swamp eel has a funny way to eat for a fish this size.

The video shows the fish halfway up and my tank has 20" in height. It moves slowly and will suck in food like noodle one small piece at a time. I don't usually house this type of eel so I have never seen it eats before. It moves very slowly and points its mouth directly on top of the sand almost as if it is trying to taste where the food is.

Just so people know, Golden Dorado are not fish for your average tank. They average around 3-10 kilos and are predators.
We fly fish for them using rabbit strip and articulate patterns that range up to around 6 or so inches (which means your other fish that are in that range or smaller are fair game).

These fish are beautiful though, and are absolutely stunning, but yeah, use some caution with these guys.

Beautifully coloured fish- I highly suggest catching one on the fly one if you're into that sort of stuff. I'd love to have a huge pond/river full of them!

Wont last in our winter here...

But yes, I do warn people about the size of them; fish like pbass, stingrays, silver arowana, niger catfish, red tail cat, TSN... and such.

They are 5"-6" now. Eating everything you throw in the tank, flake, pellets, live fish, worm, etc...

I have a few customers who has 10'x4' and 8'x4' tanks.

They are no different than rays and monster cats. Both require larger tanks and extra care. If anything, the dorado is much easier to feed, and won't eat your tankmates like TSN or RTC do. They are eating everything you throw in the tank; pellets, flakes, frozen, live... A school of them in a larger tank is quite something...

In a tank environment, they almost never get to their potential size. I am not saying you should put them in a smaller tank, but having one of those monster big tank is fine to house them, by themselves or with other fish bigger than them. But as for now, a 6' tank is good for them as grow out as they are only 5"-6" fish.
