Default Photos set for Golden dorado - May/04/2011

Golden dorado (salminus brasilensis) or commonly known as Devil's gold in the fishing world.

Here are some photos. They already know me and feeding habit. Once I approach the tank, they will start to gather. Once I put the pellets in, they are just eating machine... You can see the forth photo of them picking up food.

Quite hard fish to photograph as they don't stop moving. But here is a closer-up one so you can see. The back of them are starting to develop a small tint of yellow.

I really enjoy keeping them. They are quite fun in a tank. Certainly one of the more active fish.

Those are going to be some sweet fish for whoever can house them. I wish I could. I also like how you referred to them as "Devil's Gold"- a fly fishing term that isn't used often around these parts. I guess you sorta have to be into it to know it.
Once those things get that gold and black dotted pattern, they're going to be beauties.

I saw that feeding frenzy over pellets yesterday. It was pretty wild! Can't exactly put my finger on what it is about these fish, but I couldn't stop watching them. Very nice. I really appreciate being able to see fish at Charles' place that I would never see anywhere else.

Thank you shelley. And I keep refusing to accept your money for something from me just sitting around... Next time, I will just drop them off so you won't just leave money on top of my tank.

Very cool looking fish. I need to get out to your place more often, but my wallet likes that I can't.
