I have a pleco (smallish, but not tiny) in my 36 bowfront that is just camping there. (It's Bill's) How do I know that he's eating? I never see him. I hardly see the banjo catfish, either, and there are also some corydoras and clown loaches. (These are temporary residents) I'm not used to feeding all of these guys. I throw in some algae wafers and sinking pellets of various kinds, and it's always gone in the morning, but... should I do more?

It's the pleco I'm most worried about -- I can see the other fish -- and I know that you're a pleco expert!

Well, I think I answered my own question. I put more food into the tank and it wasn't eaten. Oh oh. lol.

well, if it doesn't have a sunken stomach, it is eating. And if it lives for over a month, it should be eating

But I have never seen this guy since the minute he went into the tank! I don't know if he has a sunken stomach. I also don't know whether plecos can compete with clown loaches, corydoras and banjo catfish as I've never had that combination before. I might have to remove some of the plants in there so that I can keep an eye on everyone a bit better.

I have a catfish like that. As soon as I declare it dead, it briefly shows up. I only see it once or twice a month, so I guess that is just his way of life.

    DefaultMotoro and Discus?

    Hi Charles,

What do you think of a 6" Motoro and some small Discus? Would the Discus be dinner or do you think it may work?

depends on size of discus. I had 3 very mean discus that wont stop pecking on a small ray's eyes.
