It was believe the true Brazilian Hystrix is the smallest in full grown at 12". Though they are next to impossible to find.
Most teacups will do 14"-16" depends on the type you get.
The red stingray - or the Magdalenae stingray will also stay 14"-16".
But that is just the general information on them. I would say to keep 1 or 2, nothing smaller than a 6'x1.5'-2' for the smaller type. Of course the bigger the better.
