tips of keeping wolf fish

One of my customer just phoned me about his 2 12" wolf swimming on his hardwood floor a minute ago.

So hopefully, this will help...

- keep your tank cover. Put a weight on top of the glass top as this is very powerful animal. They can open glass lid when they jump.
- besides the red wolf fish, I found some wolf fish can live with the multiple of same types together in a small tank. I said besides red wolf fish because this is the type that will almost always kill each other no matter what I do.
- keep your hands away from their mouth. It hurts.
- avoid feeding shellfish. Frozen prawn, fish fillet, home breed fish, and even pellets are good stable diet.
- keep up the water quality. They can produce quite a lot of waste.
- anything long, even the same size, can be view as food. Other than that, they can be housed with bigger fish like prima, pbass, rays, and even arowana. Now having said that, this doesn't mean it will work every time. Try at your own risk.
- they don't care about substrate. A piece of big driftwood so it can hide. Open tank makes them nerves.
- keep the light low.
- good top surface current.
- they don't need to be feed everyday. skip a day or two, keep it lean and mean.
