    Hi all, Just wanted to know if my pleco is a male or female. I want to say male but I just want to know if I am certian.

    Here is a photo


    Do I need another photo to clarify? Let me know

    I would say it looks like a male. females i'm pretty sure doesnt have that much .

    Females can sometimes have bristles, but usually not many, so I'm 95% sure that's a male.

    Hi Rocky. Fairly but not absolutely sure that it is a female. I bought a breeding group of 6 - 1 male and 5 female. The male has waaaay more bristle. There is another one Smiladon told me is a female with much more bristle than yours.

    99.99% is a male IMO, probably still very young though.

    if it is a male, by this age it should be showing boyhaviour- unwillingness to share toys or food, hanging out in dark rooms, that sort of thing.

    Yeah, "HE" is definitely a male, his bristles are really long now. also new bristles closer to his eyes, this definitely makes him a male! I'll get more photos for all of you guys!
