    A fork.

I've seen it done many times.
They sell weighted clips, but a fork will do what you want it to.
Tie string to the end so you can fish it out when they're done eating.

x2. A fork does the trick. Although I find a screwcumber tends to hold the veggie better if your plecos are big and strong. Same thing. Tie a string to one end to fish it out easily.

I went to the dollar store and got a few forks just for the tank. Other then that I have used a long tiny pickle fork and had it hang at the top of the tank. Hubby would freak if I used the expensive forks in the tank.

I don't like forks because of the sharpness, but I use screwcumbers, brass bolts and plant weights. Oh and I don't tie strings to the stuff, I use Aquatongs.

I use small pie forks, they work great. I also use aquatongs for removing stuff, J&L has them for cheap. Is brass ok in aquariums?

I use a safety pin with a 3/8 SS nut and a long piece of polyester string.
I slide the pin through the rib in the Romain lettuce and put it in the tanks at night for the plecos.
In the day time for my South American species.

I recently picked up 10 packages of ACCO Megaclip 4" gold coloured paper clips.
    They work great also.

I don't like brass as it may affect some plants and shrimp due to the copper content.

I have also use 4" #10 Stainless Steel wood screws with good success but I find screws will pull out if the veggies are left for more that 12 hours.

As far as I'm concerned the "Holly Grail" of clips would be 4" SS Safety pins used in sailing or to hold your kilt together I have one of them<G>
