    Default feeding sturisoma panamenses

I am wondering if people have any favourites for feeding this catfish. So far I am feeding algae tabs at the end of the day and tried some squash, but I am not sure if they were eating it or not.

Most of my fish love Romain lettuce.
I use a SS fork to hold the lettuce down and take it out each morning, if there is any left.

Mine are eating Pamelajo's critter crumbs like it's going out of style, Hikari wafers, deshelled frozen peas, Brussel sprouts, zucchini and yams. And they get the odd live blackworm. They eat only during lights out though. They are in a 20 gallon quarantine with my L134 and L340's and everyone is eating the same stuff. All fat and happy. I can see the Sturisoma stomachs when they suck up against the glass. Nice and healthy.

I have to admit my fish all love Pamelajo's critter crumbs.

    I go through a bag a week.
The Plecos,Corie's, kuli loaches, Angels, Guppies and Shrimp are all over it as it lands in the tank.

here's the hat trick for Critter Crumbs. My gracilis seem to prefer those over 'meatier' foods. Also all the veggies 2wheelsx2 listed.

Thanks guys!! You are keeping me in fishy spending money. Sweet potatoes are full of betta carotene a natural colour enhancer, way more than carrots. . I usually blanch them a bit, but the other day I had cooked some to make another batch of CC and had a couple of pieces left over. So I threw them these totally cooked pieces in the tanks. I almost think they like it cooked more they way they were eating, especially the shrimp.

dont have those fish but for my plecos i recently tried the NLS water stable algae wafers u can leave em in the tank for 24hrs and they dont fall apart, the fish seem to love em too (its prly the garlic they add to it) and i like the lack of messy leftovers :P
u can get em at JL for like 10 bucks for a good size container
they also have natural color enhancers and the usual high quality NLS ingredients

Something else to try if your fish like veggies, is sweet potato. I usually blanch them a bit, but the other day I had cooked some to make another batch of CC and had a couple left over. Haha..you know it. Oh, I think we mean the same as you when we say yams. We mean the orange ones (which are actually sweet potato, but it's call yams here for some reason). I tried blanching first, but it messed the water up too fast. The softer mouthed Loricariidae seem to enjoy the blanched much better though, but since I have a lot of panque, it doesn't seem to matter, as the panaque seem to rip up the veggies enough for the other plecos to enjoy.

I tries sweet potato/yam but it turned to mush overnight
    12 hrs in the tank.
It fell apart as I was trying to lift it out.

I use a safety pin with 2 3/8" Stainless Steel nuts and a length if nylon string to hold down the veggies.
The mushie ones don't make it up from the bottom resulting in more work to clean them up.

I discovered today that my turtles love the stalks of the Romain that the other fish don't eat.
I normally snap off the bottom 2" to reduce the flotation effect they create.

I pined up 3 stems and threw the stubs in the turtle pond and went to place the Romain in the other tanks.

In 3 min the turtles had eaten 7 stalks and 3 full leaves.

Hubby can't complain about me buying fish anymore. LOL He thinks I should save all my CC money. Like that is going to happen.
    Yep the orange ones.
