Well, I have officially dived into the Pleco World!
    I have decided on L199 & L200a for starters.
    They look great! Thanks Charles!

I hope this doesn't get addicting....

Haha, it's too late. The seed has been planted and the dealer himself has caught you. I started with 2 BN's and now have 13 plecos and can't wait to get more. You should join Plecos Anonymous. Welcome to the club

Great choice. Green phantoms are one of favourite plecos. Post pics!

Thanks for the comments! Already thinking about my next one...sheesh!

As a pleco newbie, is it better to get more of the same species or
a few different ones? I'm leaning towards getting some different
species to give the tank a different look. Not looking to get any plecos
that go over 6-7" either as my tank is only 90G (4ft).

Anybody have anything interesting for me?

Groups of the same species would look nice. In a 90 you have quite a bit of space. Just off the top of my head you should pick up more of the L200a that Charles has left as he has a deal right now. Then I would consider trying to get some L239 (x4), L134 or L015. The L199 is a big Hypan, while the L200a and L239 are Baryancistrus, and the L134 and L015 are Peckoltia. A Bristlenose or 2 would do well to keep the tank algae free and clean also. Pat has L144, LF Albinos, and Davej has LF Calico BNP's, for starters.

Thanks 2Wheels....my head is spinning from the great info..

To me, the L15 & L134 look similar to the L199.

    The L239 looks fantastic!

What about L201's? They look great as well....

The L134 and will be smaller and be bolder than the L199. Hypans (like the L201 and L199) tend to be more secretive. The L201's are a good choice too, and so are the L340's but I wasn't sure you wanted more Hypans, as you have limited space. Charles has some of both the L201 and L340's left at great prices right now.

Not sure if you've seen my pleco thread (in my sig), but I have all the species I've named except the L199 and the L015. I came very close to getting both but since my tanks are very close to capacity now, I have to reserve space for my favourites.

Yeah, Gary's pleco thread is outstanding. It's why he's #1 in the PA club.
