    Default Pleco eats mulm??

Well, guess I haven't clean my internal filter for a while, so I did that yesterday with tank water.

But the thing is, by "clean filter media with tank water", I'm not sure if it meant by clean it "with" a bucket of tank water, or clean it "in" the tank(water)...
So I did it in the tank... and there was a LOT of mulms, and cloud the whole tank too~

So After the settle down a bit, the turn on the filter blah blah blah, water is clear again, but still got about 1/3 of the mulm covering up the gravel.

Today after I got back home from work, all those left over mulms are all gone~!!
but instead I got a LOAD of fish poop~!

I know that pleco poop a lot, so... I guess that means my pleco ate all the mulms(poop) and poop it out??
    (hahahha~ So funny when I say it~ eat poop & shit poop~ )

Do you think my upside-down catfish also ate some??

The next time you service your internal filter, i would recommend you place the filter media or components in a clean spare bucket and clean it there.Remember to use aquarium water from a water change to rinse media in.Last thing you want is all that decaying matter floating back into your aquarium and throwing off all water perimeters (ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate). As for the pleco, which one do you have ? plecos in the wild feed off plant matter, algae, wood, and even dead fish. Most aquarium raised plecos have a varied diet introduced to them.As for your guy, theres the possibility they took some in unless there were other fish that finished the job.I know from experience , ive seen my plecos, catfish, and otos eat my almond leaves up and leave behind the stem.

Mine is just a regular common pleco.
Last night There ware a little bit of mulm left under the decor, so I moved the decor on the side. and This morning when I look at the tank, about 1/2 of the pleco poop & left over mulm are gone...
Now that's getting kinda funny yet weird eh~? pleco eats it's own poop???
