anyone here keep or kept petrochromis (or simochromis)?

This is a discussion on anyone here keep or kept petrochromis (or simochromis)? within the Cichlids forums, part of the Species category; see these in with tropheus tanks alot but they seem to be very pricey and even more challenging than tropheus, ...

    Default anyone here keep or kept petrochromis (or simochromis)?

    see these in with tropheus tanks alot but they seem to be very pricey and even more challenging than tropheus, was wondering if anyone here has experience with petros? their colors are amazing tho they have some big lips lol

    They get a lot bigger than trophs and are a lot more aggressive.

    diet same, hardier than tropheus. I had the trev. petro. once.

    i wish i would have met you back when you were still keeping all those tangs Charles :P but i hadnt even moved to BC yet

    btw one thing ive noticed about my trophs is they seem to eat sand after i feed them and i read sand helps their digestion, do geos do the same thing is that why theyre called earth eaters??
