Trying to sex my juvenile convicts they have a goldish hue on their underside but I thought the girls had red the guy I got them off said he thought they were females they also have light blue in their fins.hmmmm

It should be obvious once they reach a certain age. Males well be all blue/gray, and then the females will have orange/red/other colors on the dorsal fin and the belly.

Mark, I have a pair now and am sure the male is all gray/light blue on body. Aren't the female nice with the blue fins? Their bodies get darker than the males too.
