Nice looking fish. I always liked the red ones. It's a shame that I don't have any tanks suitable for one right now.

I love my oscars as well. Great fish to keep. What do you feed your Oscar?

Nice looking fish. They look very beefy. Btw my Bichir is doing well and the Africans are minding their own business. Thanks for the advice.

thanks everyone, too quickly answer questions, tank is 240, not sure on the exact age of the oscar as i adopted him, he is a few years old though. And for feeding he's got a pretty meaty diet Shrimp/talapia are the many feed items, supplemented with super worms and meal worms which i breed and gutload myself, earthworms and soon cochroaches will start breeding roaches again for them as well. I normally have some sort of pellets that i use from time too time for small feedings. I also give him small pieces of fruit of veggies from time too time just whatever i've got shopped up for the turtles in the tank beside him.

BelieveInBlue, thanks and good eye! but he's 100% healthy. what i'm assuming your referring too is that hole you see sorta between the eyes, but it is a scar.

He was adopted from a lady who kept him in a 90g mix cichlid tank and felt he had outgrown it (obviously lol). While in old home he jumped and cut a big chunk out of his head when he his a metal center brace. It was half healed when i got him however you could see the signs of infection starting to developed around the wound and spreading across his face too his nostrils . Considering the severity of his wound and that he was in a small overcrowded tank he's lucky too have survived it ! But in the big tank it cleared up and healed incredibly fast. He just needed a bigger home and cleaner water now what you see is just some scaring but i find it just adds character.

Vman, glad too hear they are doing well, the 2 i got from the PU here (which i guarantee came out of the same box as yours in the long run lol) are also doing very well, one lives under a log the other loves too stay in the floating cover , both aggressive feeders though, eating right out of my hand!

the old owners must have done something right , after all he got nice and big before they had problems, i think he was alone for a long time then they added Africans and started having issues, but i was happy too take him, I traded them some Mbuna too go with their others, i have more Mbuna then i can count so it's never a problem too trade fry! lol
