i think its a female especially if the fish in the background in the second picture is the same species

nah the one in the background is a aequidens diadema but I think you may be right about it being a female, was just hoping for some clarification from somebody who had one.

i dont have any experience with those cichlids so i was just going on dorsal and anal fin roundness and lack of any head bump
