Default has anyone imported african cichlids from the USA before? do you have to pay duty?

i have an order arriving tomorow on an air canada flight, i called air canada and they said they dont know whether or not there will be duties, they give me papers that i have to go get customs to stamp and bring back to them for the fish...

was wondering if any members here have experience with this, the order is approx 200$ worth of fish and 115 of shipping, how much more if any can i expect to pay tomorow.

also i have to pick them up at 4900 miller road, any chance customs is in the same building? :P

When I ordered fish, it was delivered to my door (no customs).

Worst case scenario, expect around $55 for customs. I haven't had an instance where I had to drive to airport to pickup, but from other people's similar experiences, they had to pay for customs.

every time I got fish from US via air frieght, they hold the fish untill you show customs papers. so make sure your package arrives during customs hours of operation.

4900 Miller Road may simple be Air Canada's air cargo depot. I remember when we did a group buy from the US before, one of us had to go back to the main terminal to customs to complete the paperwork, pay taxes, etc... before the cargo company would release the boxes to us.

4900 is Air Canada's cargo depot Address. You'll have to google a location close to YVR. I think it is at the main terminal to be honest.
