Default I need Kribensis cichlid info.

I have one male Krib and I was wondering if I added a female to the tank would make him less aggressive? He seems to love chasing the other fish and nipping them he killed 2 of my guppies as well so idk what to do.
    thanks for the help

I would think that adding a female will possibly make him more aggresive as they are sure to breed and will be chasing any fish that comes near their eggs and fry

I agree with what others have said. Adding a female in there would be a ticking bomb for your guppies. It might keep him busy and distracted for a a little while, but things would get nasty with a pod of fry around.

Thanks a lot everyone. I'm down to one adult male guppie. I put him in the tank during the day and put him in a holding cell at night with his two remaining babies. All my other guppies were killed, along with one swordy. The evil cichlid wont eat during the day instead he just hides till night and builds his appetite for the tails of my poor fish. So i'm going to start feeding him when all the lights are out. Hopefully he will calm down. Probably not though Thanks again!

kribs are like convicts...they lay waste to anything in the tank when they breed. Not a good fit for guppies. I'd rehome him or put him in another tank with a female.

    Gone fishing....
