by now Oscar breeders have had lots of time to come up with "leucistic" lines; that is, missing their chromatophores. Just a suspicion.
In some fish that gives you gold (yellow) and others it gives you plantinum.
Shows up on close breeding or just natures accident if really, really rare. (platinum red tail cat, ex.)
    just a guess.

I have heard they ar just a normal white tiger oscar or Lutino tiger & the name lemon is just a marketing ploy.

I have also theard they tend to change color to the normal white/albino tiger look & grow to look like a normal albino looking fish.

What you saw were probably bored fish, & yes you will need a larger tank much sooner than you expect.
4-5 times the size you currently have y our fish in.
Oscars grow quickly, & most O's I see do much better in a larger tank.
IMO 90G min per 1 Oscar.

Way to bring back a dead thread.

Please don't buy an Oscar unless you know what you're doing.

I've had my Albino Tiger Oscar for almost 8 years now and if it wasn't for him I'd be outta the hobby by now. Started him in a 25 gallon when he was the size of a toonie, moved him to a 90 gallon and now just bought a 130 gallon for him....

They are messy eaters that need large tanks, and good filtrtation. Very unique fish I must say, he has a personality all his own, but I don't think I'll ever get another one.
