Question Mixed Africans I.D. Help *PicsWarning*

Hey, I have a few africans cichlids that I've been trying to figure out what they are. I am 90% sure they are all malawi, and sure they are mix of mbuna, haps and peacocks.
I guess I'll label them with #1 #2 etc, and give what I think they are. Then wait to be corrected as I am sure I am wrong being new to this lol

Thanks ahead of time for any help with finding the identity of these cool fish.

    #1 M.callainos cobalt blue ??

#2 M.estherae Red zebra ?? (why if most are yellow do they call them red ??)

only pic I could get .... damn fish.

#3 Aulonocara sp. ?? black eyed albino ??

    #4 Aulonocara sp. "stuartgranti" ??

    #5 Aulonocara sp. female ??

    #6 S.fryeri electric blue hap ??

    ......

Being that your soo sure that is isn't a red zebra, do you have any idea of what kind it may be ??

    African Cichlid Genus Gallery
Here's a link to a gallery where I've been doing my matching.
The M.estherae pictured looks yellow to me ??
    Species Profiles -- Cichlid-Forum
This is the species link gallery, some looks orange ish some look yellow ish.

Now I'm not saying I know for sure that is what I have ..... but its the only thing I find that is close, and when directly in the light from the bulb is kinda tints orange a little. But who knows ??

Thanks for your input tho, every bit helps

may be a hybrid between a zebra and a yellow lab (Labidochromis caeruleus), IPU had fish a while back labeled yellow labs but they didnt have the black along the fins is that where u got it?

Well thanks for you input anyways looks like I'll start from scratch again on figuring out his/her specific species. Why can't this be easier haha.

I guess it is possible, I got this fish along with my demasoni at pet smart in Abbotsford, I asked the guy there who seems to know his stuff and his said they weren't labs but were definatly a malawi species.

As for the cross I guess it is possible, although the body shape is all wrong compared to the labs in the tank, the fish in question (#2) does sometime have slight black tint on the pelvic fins.

    Thanks

in the background of the top pic, that looks like a female yellow lab (is that dorsal fin have a faint black line or is that just the camera playing tricks?)
they have a narrower body than the zebras, would u say thats the case with the fish in question?
the other option if theres no black and its not narrow, a female saulosi, another common "mix african tank" fish

also the top fish isnt a cobalt blue they look like this: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profile...ies.php?id=787
it might be a male saulosi... but the nose doesnt look quite as blunt, they do have the red on the back of the dorsal like that sometimes tho check out the different pics of them on the first link in this post

they never seem to be what they are sometimes, I bought 2 Blue Auratus at pet smart in langley, the lady told me they were real nice fish and pretty much mellow....HAHAHAHA yeah right. Now one of my BLUE Auratus is RED with little Blue streaks in it?? and the other is Blue.
Plus the Red one has no Killed and eaten 2 of my yellow labs, 1 of my jewels it must be this one considering he's gettin big fast and seems to be the one that is very Dominant in the tank.
I'm in the middle of getting the water conditions right for him to move into my empty 37 in the basement...

The first pic does indeed have a yellow lab it is one of the two in the tank, those were bred by a friend. I'm suprised tho you can tell sex that easy(I have no clue). How do you tell sex other than those species with different colours ?
For #2 I was thinking saulosi aswell but I think its a little different in shape (again im kinda a newby to cichlids) also its anal fin isnt yellow its clear with one yellow spot?. Maybe a pure labido or a cross who knows.
I am ready to give up on guessing with him/her lol I dunno we shall see maybe with a little size there will be more tell tale markings lol

I got this fish at animal house in Chilliwack under 2", sold to me as a cobalt blue zebra. Its prob now close if not just past 3"
I also agree it doesn't really look like M.callainos, and has more of a Psuedotropheus kinda shape(too me...?), it sometimes shows the bright blue of a cobalt.
This link for the saulosi the one you used, Image : male transforming - picture looks slightly similar in pattern an colour.

This link for the cobalt shows another resemblance in the, Image: Juvenile male - picture.

Soo again maybe this is a cross who can tell lol looks like both.
I've also seen other pictures labelled as other species that looks like him/her but I've ruled most out for one reason or another lol.

I'm crazy I know but I wish I could just figure out what the fish are lol
Do you think all the other fish seem to be labelled right ? I am sure that I'm wrong on a few others.

    Thanks
