    Default parott ok in 55g

hey i wanted to check will parott cichlid be ok in 55g 48 x 13 x 21 tank with my angelfish, blue gouramis and clown loaches. thing i am not sure on is the behaviour of parrot fish, they seem friendly but there are stories of parott being the 'boss of tank' and will poke most fish.
and that as they say is that.

It looks like kissing cause their lips are so damn deformed.
I'm sure it's their way of showing aggression.

I have one in my 50 gal tank with 3 clown loaches a red tailed shark and 2 plecos (that recently replaced 4 Angelfish). He does poke at everyone from time to time, except the shark. He does seem to be king of the tank, however being as he has a non functional mouth , he can't really harm anyone. He's pretty laid back most of the time. He took over my sharks cave but doesn't seem to mind if everyone else squeezes in there in times they need to hide. I'd think they are fine unless you see it reacting overly aggresive

is it true that the breeding went wrong or something cause people say parott cannot close mouth fully and all the colours were sprayed on.
and that as they say is that.

Breeding gone wrong depends on who you ask lol, but yes the mouth is "deformed" when compared to other cichlid's,

They are result of intentional hybridization of more than one cichlid species and line breeding too create a specific "look"

Then on top of that they are one of many fish who are often injected with dies too make fancy colors/patterns. A procedure frowned upon by many hobbyists.

this is all assuming your speaking about the common or "jelly bean"" parrot
