    Default pregnant fish

first off let me say im new to ciclids so any info will be helpful thanks. I have a tank with male and female yellow blaze, red empress, and blue alhi fish. My blue alhi male is the most dominent fish and a pair has produced fry. I have now noticed that my red emp is holding so my question is is it most likely that my most dominent fish the alhi will spawn with her or will she pair with the other male red empress? Im worried about cross breeding these fish

Most likley they will attempt to breed with their own kind BUT there is a chance that the dominant fish in the tank may try to get in on the action too. Aside from actually observing the breeding taking place, you would have to wait until the fry are born. S, fryeri(ahli) and P. taeniolatus(Red Empress) have different body shapes and markings, so you will be able to tell if the fry are pure or hybrids.

    Some pics that may help:

The P. Taeniolatus fry will have two distinct horizantal lines along the body and a shorter body in general with a steeper head profile. S, fryeri will have a longer body, some faint vertical lines in the body and a less steep head profile.

Also, make sure you don't have this fish, as you said "yellow Blaze" which usually refers to O. lithobates:
