Parrots are a cross from severums, and their personalities are similar. Severums are usually peaceful, And are best kept in pairs. Care should be taken if more than two are housed in the same tank, as if a pair breeds, its likley the other will be picked on. In my personal severum tank i have 4 pairs, and they co extist just fine as they always have someone to back them up in a scrap. As for feeding, they are not usually too picky, and rarely go on hunger strikes.

Personally, one of my favorite fish of all time. If you can source some high quality severums, they will display much more color than any run of the mill fry bought at a LFS. Keep in mind there are 3 wild type severums (Possibly 4), and 2 domestic.

No, 75 gallon minimum for an adult. Keep in mind they can easily hit 8" and if grown well, 10"

Only non dwarves I could think of that would be ok in a 30 gal would be a pair of Angels (at most 4 if unpaired) ..., a firemouth might be pushing it but might do, or keyholes... other than that.. don't think there are any other SA cichlids which are non dwarves that are suitable for a 30 gal...

There are other great choices if you want to keep a small tank. Many Gymnogeophagus species stay small. As well, even some smaller geophagus species can be kept in a thirty gallon, IE. red head tapajos.

I would say thats pushing it with those Geo species that push 6". I wouldnt put them in anything smaller then a 55 Gallon. (If they are in a group)

Angels, Convicts, Dwarf Cichlids, Keyholes, etc are all good options.
