Question Show Tank Haps, Peacocks etc: To Sell or not to sell?

As most of you know. I happen to be collecting show quality fish to add to my collection of an all male hap/peacock tank (125 Gallons).

I have been handpicking fish for around 2 years to add to my collection, but recently, I have an urge to change this tank to a planted setup and some schooling fish.

    I currently have 2 options.
    1. Sell them all to BCA members and move to planted tank (maybe Discus?)
    2. Leave the tank as is

My family wants a "change" in the tank too, but its hard to get rid of fish that you collect over time.

I am sure that many of you have been in a similar situation before, so I wanted to know what decision you made or would make in this situation and how it turned out to be.

My 75Gallon is a Discus tank right now 75 Gallon is also too small for them anyways.

I do have a 155Gallon tank that is full of little blue dolphins, but they are still to small to keep my "favourites" as they are around 6.5-7" Haps. To tell you the truth...they are all my favourites (except maybe 1 or 2).

I originally sold them partly because they outgrew my 125gallon tank. I dont know if it is a good idea to cram them in this tank again...

I am ideally looking to change this tank to a serene tank (just like when my barbs were in this tank before..lol). After the barbs were out, the tank turned back into the common "cichlid tank".

I want to change this tank into one that I can watch for hours and not get bored. I am assuming that a planted tank with schooling fish will do the trick. Maybe 50-60 cardinals, 30 rosy barbs for middle, school of clown loaches and cories for bottom and maybe giant swordtails for top and a few BNPs for algae cleaning. Just an idea...

Another option is to have a Discus tank (move my Discus from 75 Gallon to 125 Gallon and add a few more Discus) and a school of 30-40 rummynose tetras and another school of 30-40 cardinal tetras.

Last option could be a school of Altums..dont know what else I can keep with Altums and if a 125Gallon is big (tall) enough for Altums...
