    Default Sudden Aggression?

    Hi there,

I bought a 50g tank a couple months ago and the previous owners gave me their fish (Green Terror and a pleco) with it. The fish were fine, didn't ever go near each other, etc, up until recently. My GT has started biting my pleco and is constantly harassing him and chasing him around the tank.

Is there anything I can do to stop this or should I find a new home for my GT? I don't want an injured pleco.

Well, GTs could be aggressive. You can try adding more plants and ornaments so the GT won't claim territories in the tank

I never had a problem with GTs and a Pleco but if it is just them two in the tank then I guess it is not too surprising

+1 what Victor suggested. Provide more hiding spots for the pleco. They should never be exposed out in the open. Get some caves, large rocks, driftwood.

Thanks guys. I went to the closest pet store today but they didn't have anything big enough for my pleco to hide in. I'll keep searching!

Just get big rocks and/or fake plants or even clay pots

Yeah big decor is wayyy to expensive. Just grab some slate/flat rocks and make a cave
