    Default What am I?

Any ideas what both the fish in this pic is? Sorry couldn't get a better shot of the peacock...the yellow one in the foreground is about 4.5, the peacock about 4. No egg spots on the anal fin, so I'm inclined to GUESS that it's a female, but I'm not sure.

    Any ideas?

The Peacock is either a Rubin Red or German Red,The other just looks like a Electric Yellow Lab

It's not a yellow lab; at 4.5 inches it should have the black striping already. Not sure what it is, but I'd say its a hybrid of some kind. It might have mbuna blood in it.
Dwarf cichlids = more personality per inch than just about any other fish (maybe even animal) that you'll ever have as a pet

The yellow one may be a Metriaclima lombardoi.

Thanks folks...I know the yellow one is not a lab - I have a few of those, and it's just not the same.

MOLOTO - While it is possible, I don't think it's a Kenyi either - I have a couple of those, and it doesn't look the same..

I'm tending to believe zebra hybrid, but still not sure.

the one in the back looks like a Red Empress Protomelas Taeniolatus, but hard too say from that angle and peacocks are not my specialty,

yellow one is an older Mature male kenyi, Metriaclima lombardoi, baring looks right so probably not a hybrid, (at least no more so then 99% of them out there), when young all kenyi are pale blue with 5 dark er blue bar's, at about 2" (depending on tank mates) the dominate males will begin too turn yellow retaining the darker yellow bar's. As they grow older they will become more solid yellow and bars will fade more and more. So depending on the age/maturity/dominance a kenyi can look quite different.

EDIT ... BTW , if this is a new purshcase I'd watch him/the tank closely . Adding a kenyi at that size/age can be tricky, in my experience he'll likly seem too play nice at first, but once he settles and decides on a territory he may suddenly shoot his way up your tanks hierarchy (or will at least try) and depending on your stocking he could do allot of damage in a tank!

    OK then, colour me confused.

-DC- he is not a new purchase, and he is the biggest pansy in the tank. My little hongis or cobues can push him around.

If this fella is a kenyi - then what is the guy in this photo ..This one is the alpha male in the tank. My son named him Kong. I thought he was a dominant male Kenyi..at least, that's what I was told when I brought him home.
