    Default What to doo... (Flowerhorn)

I have had my flowerhorn since I picked him up when he was smaller than a quarter.
Hes been amazing in my 100 gallon with my severums, convict, butterkoeferi tilapia, jewel cichlid, cories, parrotfish, and others.
Now he's grown over 5 inches and Im starting to get worried.
Lately my flowerhorn has been aggressove with the severums.
I love all my fish, but what should I do?
My landlord will only allow me to have one tank.

PS. He's a male, and I would absolutely love to breed him because he's hot pink, and make the most amazing babies... hint hint

My suggestion might be to get a tank divider. I may have to do this with my flowerhorns too.

Alot of people will tell you that if you grow the flowerhorn up with the tank mates he will do fine when he grows big.
I've never believed in that and have tried several times and it never worked out for me.
I bought mine during the summer at 3-4" and he's now 8" and has been living in a 75g alone.
If he's being this aggressive at 5" then you have to watch out. The bigger he grows the more aggressive he will get. Eventually you'll lose more in your tank from the flowerhorn. You can try dividing the tank in half if you like your flowerhorn that much

I have had flowerhorns in a community before. The trick is to have A LOT of fish to divert the aggression. Obviously, not everyone is going to like this overstocked look and you really need sufficient filtration.

But yes, divider would probably have to do if you can only have one tank

I agree. Just find some fish with same size add in then you are fine. I have my with a bunch of convicts and 2 oscar and the convict chase my flowerhorn away when breeding. So you need to either add more fish same size or bigger or get female green terror for it.
