what happend?

hey everyone today i look into my angel tank to see my female dead i dont know what happend! my water is ammonia and nitrite free (not sure about nitrate dont have a tester yet :l)water temp is 84, with a air stones and double filtration in a heavy planted 25 gal. she acted perfectly normal before she died she ate and was very active , heck 2 weeks before she layed some eggs! when i found her i found kind of a clearish pile of sludge in the tank, its hard to explain what it looked like and i have no clue what it was, im not sure why she died but i want to figure it out to prevent it from happening again. also will my male angel be able to pair up again?

I can't help you on the why she died , or what the sludge might be .. Occasionally something will panic a fish like the angels and they will ram into something so hard trying to flee that they kill themselves .. I've had that happen before.. You male will pair up again if there is a suitable female available.

Maybe she was old?
