Default FS: Hedgehog & Supplies $60 **SOLD**

Female hedgehog born on Aug.1/11. Comes with all of her supplies; cage (a large Sterilite bin), running wheel, igloo, dishes, blankie, catfood. She's never bitten anyone. She is shy at first, but friendly once she becomes familiar with you.

She eats good quality catfood as her staple food (only about 2-3 tablespoons a day) and can be fed small amounts of treats such as: fruits, veggies, cooked meats, cream cheese, low fat cottage cheese, canned dogfood, alfalfa, Grape Nuts Cereal, Benefiber Cereal, Temptations cat treats.

There's some good info about hedgehogs on this site: Hedgehog Headquarters

A few additional things that I'd like to point out are:

    1. Hedgehogs are nocturnal. They like to run on their wheel pretty much all night, so you don't want to keep their cage in a bedroom because the noise will most likely bother you.

    2. Hedgehogs are a little nervous by nature so not a good pet for young children that want to grab at them.

    3. Hedgehogs go to the bathroom whenever they feel like it, they don't care if that happens to be when you're holding them. Sometimes they poop when they're scared too. Unfortunately hedgehog poop isn't in the form of a compact pellet like a rabbits poop is - it's bigger, wetter, & smellier. We found it beneficial to have our hedgie sit on an old hand towel or washcloth when holding her or to handle her after she's been running on her wheel. Which leads me to my next point ...

    4. The 'poop wheel'. Running on a wheel stimulates a hedgehogs bowels. They run, they poop, they run in their poop. Therefore the wheel gets caked in poop. You need to remove the wheel from the cage often to clean it. I found it easiest to soak the wheel for awhile to loosen things up and then scrub it.

    5. Running on the 'poop wheel' makes it appear that your hedgie is wearing little shoes made out of feces. It's very easy to clean their feet. You just fill your bathroom sink with about an inch of warm water (I also throw in a squirt of my baby's soap) and let the hedgie soak for a minute or two, then dry off her feet.

    6. Hedgehogs need to be handled for at least 30 minutes a day. They are intelligent animals and they need the stimulation of being out of their cage.

Twiggy is a very sweet little hedgehog. My kids aren't giving her the attention that she deserves and I don't have the time to dedicate to her. I'd really like to find her a great forever home.

Soooo tempting! absolutely adorable Pam. If I had more room or less tanks I would surely take it myself. Hope you find a good home Twiggy.

Lol! Darn poop wheel I just wanted to be completely honest about what someone would be getting.

Somebody else has said that they would like to buy her.
