    Default LF: Canister Filter

It's a long tank, no more than 13" high..so the intake and outake needs to be able to fit. Heard that XP's are good. I'm open to other brands though too. I already pmed the people who listed theirs for sale but they're sold already. Thanks in advance.

Before I go on and write out a long message, there's been a ton of previous discussions similar to what you're inquiring about. Canister filters depends on the amount of money you're willing to shell out, the amount of water flow you want, quietness of the equipment, size of fitration required for your tank, do you want overfiltration, brand loyalty, or just personal preference for the look of the equipment. Lots of variables to consider. Each person is going to have their own opinion on what's best and has worked best for their own personal experiences. Popular choices are the Eheim, Rena Filstar, and Fluval lines.

Here's a list of previous thread topics on the related subject.

Best canister filter for 55 gallons? Fluval? Ehiem? Models?
