Default LF: Dry Ferts (Monopotassium Phosphate & Potassium Sulphate)

I've been using Seachem products and have been told by numerous people already that dry ferts work better and are way more economical. I want to give dry ferts a try and see where it leads me

    Looking for the following
    Monopotassium Phosphate KH2PO4
    Potassium Sulphate K2S04

I know I can get a pound from Charles for $5 a pound. My problem is I live in Burnaby so it's a little bit of a drive, given the current price of gas. Sorry, I'm cheap

To make the long story short, if you have at least half a pound left of any of the ferts listed above and you live in Burnaby or E. Van, please do let me know and I'll buy it off you if you don't need it anymore.

    cheers

You may even want to see if there are any horticulture stores near your area as they would have the same supplements, however I don't know if they sell it by the bulk... I think I have some but I am all the way in Richmond... Not worth your gas!
who is yo daddy and what does he do?

Yeah, being a newbie, I'm just worried that I may get something not aquarium safe. I may just have to bite the bullet and drop by Canadian Aquatics one weekend. I just have to time it with our Sunday family brunch.

    Thanks tang_daddy!

By asking for the compound name, you will get exactly that, not some commercial brand product with who knows what in it. So don't worry too much when going through a horticulture or hydroponics source.

Thanks! I will look around Burnaby then. I think I saw a few places when I googled one time.

If you don't need much and your tank is small, then it probably would be better to ask members around who can sell you a bit of everything. I can sell you some if you like.. I am in Vancouver though, not Burnaby.
Otherwise, $5 a pound from Canadian Aquatics is cheap, probably cheaper than you could get at a Hygroponics shop plus they may not even carry CSB+B (your trace elements) which Can. Aquatics does. and presume you are looking for some as well? You figure out the cost of gas versus the price difference and your time, etc..

    Hello Captured_Moments,
Yes, I only have a 20 gallon tank. At the moment, I'm running low on Potassium and Phosphorus. For Macro, I'm using Flourish. I'm also applying Iron. Can I buy Monopotassium Phosphate KH2PO4 and Potassium Sulphate K2S04 from you? Just enough that would maybe last me at least 6 months. Where in Vancouver are you?

Thank you very much for the offer!
