"New BCaquaria isnt as fun"
"since the crash I dont spend as much time there as before"
"all classified ads now"

These are just some of many comments I have heard from members.

What kinds of things are you guys wanting to "have" that would make this an even better, vibrant, fun place to come than it already is.

I request that you phrase your suggestions in such a way as it is what you WANT to see

GOOD EXAMPLE would be..
Monthly giveaways in a timely fashion
Get togethers at members houses
NOT WHAT I want..
There are never any prizes anymore
Can't stand lowballers, know it alls, jerks yadda yadda..

As I am the OP I would ask you to please respect my requested form of dialogue. If you have something you have to get off your chest and its negative PM me:)

Lastly this is OUR forum and if we dont like where it's going its up to us to change it, and I think we can make it great. With help from all of us this can be the fun, informative, interactive place we will all want it to be.

So a new algae seems to have popped up in my divided 10g. For a while, I was fighting with slime algae. Got that under control by reducing the lighting a couple of hours.
Now just today I noticed something new. Looks like possibly green hair algae? Last water change was about 30% on Sept. 3, and I didn't notice it then.

What might this be caused by, and is it another "bad" algae (ie taking oxygen out of the water)?

Interesting, I just noticed right now it's this side that has the most algae. This half of the tank sort of has the light focused over it (because of the filter, I can't get the light over both halves). The other side has very little algae of any sort in it.

Well as some of you know I have a ongoing project that started several months ago. I found myself running out of room as far as tanks went :( the solution was to stack em.
I needed a good solid top section to hold the lights and decided instead of a stand and a separate top section for the lights . I would build it to be a bolt together item. thus the top will support several hundred pounds. Also I should note its 7 feet tall.
My dream is to have a big salt water tank and one day this will be it with water storage etc. up top.....OKAY!! a guy can dream cant he :D

I bought a tank and stand here and used the stand minus the legs for part of the project. Please bear with me as I try to organize some what of a story line here .
Welcome all comments and suggestions ...any questions ...ask away.
Thanks or looking

Below is the type of stand I started with. ( thanks to the member who posted this up for sale as I didn't get pics ) The legs are welded on to the rectangular tank support frame sections. ( only has 2 welds per leg per frame ) ...spooky !

I had all the steel --- (4 legs and 6 cross braces precut.) assembly took about 2 hours and finish welding and grinding another 3 hour there abouts.

The side plates in the end are continuously welded both inside and out.

The large washers are located at the 2 cross braces .They will aid in supporting the 1-1/2 inch sheet of plywood .this in turn will support the tank more as well give me something to screw stuff to such as lights etc.

Here is a shot of it pretty much put together.

Hi all,

I have two 6-8" common sailfin plecos and just notice a couple days ago that one of them have orange spots around its anus (look more like tiny eggs in my opinion) and I was just wondering if anyone has encountered or knows what this possibly could be? I always thought that plecos were substrate breeders but then again I have never bred nor have I tried to breed pleco's before.

Thanks for taking the time to read this
And Thanks in advance for any feedback you may have
It's for a 55g so approx. 48" x 12" total. I will actually need four pieces since there is a brace in the middle. Do they charge per cut or just for the glass only?
I am using eggcrate atm but I am worried about condensation getting into the light fixture.

I've never played before. Any old hands here? What do you think of the new red box? It has round tokens inside instead of minis, a nice big map, a "choose your own adventure" style starting guide, character sheets, and dice. It looks kind of fun, although I've never played pencil and paper RPGs before. Played plenty of video game RPGs, though.

Does anyone here play, and/or would like to DM for some newbies? :)
If you used to play but not anymore, why did you stop?
also, shameless advertisement:

Am I a dunce? I wanted a maxijet, but when I got to King Ed's they didn't have any of the smaller ones and I didn't want a 1200, so I got the AC70. Anyway, they convinced me to get the filter attachment to prevent little fishes from getting sucked in (mostly my Cories). I'm forever cleaning that thing, which is a bit annoying, but the most annoying thing is that the venturi feature doesn't appear to work properly. It works only for a day after I clean it out. Does it only work under extremely high flow rates? Should I remove the filter attachment? Should I sell it and get another maxijet?
