advice needed regarding tank cleaning

Hi, there:

I've started a fresh water tank two months ago and would like to get some nice live plants for my guppy fries to hide in. And I got a 65 gallon salt water tank yesterday. I used the tap water to clean this huge tank this morning and found there's still some salt stains remain on the glass. I'm not so sure if there's any chemicals left as well. I want to run the new tank as a fresh water one and really need to get it ready ASAP. Would anyone with experience give me some advice regarding cleaning techiques? Thanks for your time and help.
