I seem to recall reading something somewhere about someone doing a Fluval Spec (or maybe it was just a regular tank) trio setup - kind of like a triptych idea. They had then suspended a long light over the three... but now I can't find anything about it. Did anyone else come across this?
Edit: Found an example on YouTube ... WOW! I have never been good with planted tanks so don't think I can go this high-tech with mine...but ... "wow" is all I can say - it's beautiful!
Fluval Spec planted trio
As PJ's finally got more Spec's in stock (and are still running their great deal) my hubby let me splurge and buy two more so that I can upgrade my current betta tanks and have a trio!He loves the clean lines of the Spec so it was not hard to sell him on the idea.
I haven't set them up yet, just trying to think of ideas. Currently have crypts in with one of the bettas and am loathe to move them (crypt melt) as they are doing really well. Thus, I might leave the 3rd Spec for a project in the spring.
The current Spec has a small piece of driftwood with java fern attached so it looks like a tree, and three smooth "interlocking" rocks at the base:
Am probably going to have to go with a different substrate mix in the next one, as I am out of the small amount of Aquasoil that I was using in the other tanks, but will still use gravel on top of it, so that I can continue the same visual effect throughout. It would be neat to create a landscape that continues through each, but at the moment it would be different plants in each, different decoration types = less continuity.
