    Default heater for 140 gallon

What do I need to keep my 140 gallon tank at a steady 80F?
In line would be best but I'm not sure where I can buy them. LFS doesn't carry them.

    I'll be running dual XP3 and a AC110

I have both 300w and 500w digi heater by odyssea. Check my equipment page for pricing and photos.

    I have my 125 steady at 79 with a 300w. I would recommand a 500w for your tank.

If you want inline get 2 300 W Hydor from J&L and control them together with a controller.

I'm running dual 300 Ebo Jagers submersibles on my 125 in my cold basement. Shouldn't be a problem for your 140. I wouldn't go a single heater in case you have a failure in one.

Jl also sells titanium heater with controllers for around $35 bucks, I swear by these... No more breaking or setting the house on fire!

    It's 140 gallons, not 180. But thanks! I'll look into J&L

Usually when you have a tank larger then say 80 gallons, they recommend you have 2 heaters. This is in case one of your heaters fails or if your one heater isnt powerful enough to heat the tank its self. I run 2x fluval E300 on my 125 gallon, it is in my basement, these together have no problems keeping the temp at 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit
