    Default I hate cyanobacteria!!!!!

So finally I got my 100 gallon tank (i think) under control. Had to many phosphates in there from debris under the rock work. I did not realize how much stuff can actually get under there and hide.

This was a hard lesson learned. Ended up lost lot of fish due to the algea that grew. Most of it looked like brown aglea but there were areas where it was coming off in chunks (I am assuming that was blue green aglea).

ALSO lost a bunch of fry in a smaller tank due to blue green algea (in there i am sure of the type).

I wonder if there are some food that are higher in phosphates also?

Yes too many fish and overfeeding can build phosphates in your tank, you can do large 60% waterchanges weekly and heavy gravel cleaning to reduce the phosphates or like the other member suggested get a phosban reactor...

Low hardness levels really encourages cyanobacterial growth, dont know what your levels are like but I would suggest having a look at that also, particularly in freshwater.
