Default New 90 gallon what to put in it????

Just picked up a 90g the other day going to be building a stand this weekend for it, question is what to put in it???? I have another tank with 4 nice sized Flag Cichlids and a 5" silver doller and a 5"+ Sailfin Pleco, i was wondering about Discus, does anyone know if all would get along or should I just go Discus and if I was to do Discus what's the difficulty level, considering I've never had Discus before.

    Any help is much appreciated..

if your gunna do discus i would stick to just them and maybe some corys for clean up....i have never found discus to be as hard as some people say. i have bred wild greens in the past. keep on top of your water changes and feed a little bit numerous times a day,is what i found to work for me.

If you plan on keeping Discus (Wild/Domestic) a few things should be followed:
    1)Water-Water-Water has to be clean
2)Several water changes a week are necessary/you decide what amount to be carried out depending on stock levels
3)Dont mess around with PH , keep it stable and balanced
4)Water in the lowermainland is soft, but still needs trace elements/addictives
    man made products or natural
5)Discus hate higher levels of nitrate, will not be happy/become ill/even die with high nitrite levels as well
6)They like higher temperatures (28C and up)
7)Do better in larger groups of 6 +
8)Pick the right tankmates for discus(consider temps/space/diet etc)
9)Pick the right plants if your going planted(high temps will take toll on demanding species)
    10)Feed a varied diet(High quality flake,pellets or granules,bloodworms,blackworms,brine shrimp,krill, etc
11)Add some decor(driftwood, branches, substrate, stones, rocks etc) your discus will like it and feel safe/secure
12)Good filtration system with seasoned media

Most important aspect missed by a few, find a reputable dealer with healthy stock and go from there. Some will know the complete history of all their stock.Avoid buying from various dealers, whom are just there to make a deal.Theres a few sponsors here that bring in high quality Discus and look after them,as well as some members/breeders here throughout the forums.I may have missed a few more things sorry, but theres others here whom will add on as wellGood luck with your project, ask more questions if you like we are here to help!

Discus definitely require alot of dedication if you want them to grow nice and healthy.

As Luke78 has stated theres alot you need to learn BEFORE taking on Discus.

I would probably just do a nice community tank or a cichlid tank. Something simple and doesn't need crazy daily maintenance.

Be forewarned, once you have discus fever, it takes a long time to cure you. If you do buy discus, start off with younger 2-3 inch ones and the least expensive ones, like red turks, pigeon bloods, etc. This way should you lose them, its not going to hurt the wallet as much. As others have said, its about keeping the water clean and stable.
