    Default Water meter regulations

So, with the new water meters coming into effect in a couple more years, would u get out of the hobby, down-size or just get out of the hobby?

This would probably just affect the people with 55+ gallon tanks. But I wanna hear others opinion.

Btw, I'm not sure how much we'd get charged...

really not that expensive for metered water, we pay an average of about $75 a month for a house with 5 adults and also run a small nursery growing plants in the back yard. the part that annoys me is that we have to pay sewer charges based on all incoming water volume when about 80% of our water used does not go back into the drains

I have moved to saltwater and with a 90 gallon display tank and 75 gallon sump I have a fair bit of water volume. I have been actually reducing my water changes and have been able to maintain stability. I just have to top off the tank most of the time now.

When I was doing a high tech freshwater tank(s) I tried to get stable a stable system with lots of plants to suck up the nutrients in the water and lower the number of water changes. I think that is where things will likely go. I guess people with fish only tanks will have to figure out a way to re-use the water somehow to maybe water plants and gardens.

As mentioned above. I don't think it really will be that much.

It's really not that much. We have been metered in Strathcona (figures they will start with the poorest neighbouhood in Vancouver) for the last 3 years and even with daily 50% water changes in a 210 gallon and 72 gallon tank, the bill isn't much

For some reason i thought it'd be some ridiculous price.
