I'm a senior software developer and skateboarder in Vancouver BC.
I always had fish tanks growing up, freshwater 12 gallon tanks mostly maintained by my
dad that would mostly fail and get little love.
I had a tank in university that I kept small crabs in semi-successfully, but have been mostly out of fish keeping for a long time.
Well, today I bought a 6 gallon starter kit, a Fluval Flora tank. I am excited to have a tank
with real plants. Here is to many hours spent working on an worrying about my new tank!
My wife's cousin referred me to this site, he mentioned there are many helpful experts, I'm sure I will be lurking around and spending a lot of time reading forum threads.

Hey welcome,
I've a Fluval Ebi which is the Flora's twin brother... they're just under 8G I think. Same as you... got back into it after a long time away, just started up again a few weeks ago
Flora/Ebi's are great tanks, just read the threads about that background popping out (you'll need to re-silicone them or just take it out entirely) and it's light burning out. Hopefully you'll have one of the newer ones that have fixed these problems.
