About LinkBacksSo I took care of my brother’s fish when he was in hospital and the next thing I knew I had to have some fish myself. I have a three month old 20 gallon freshwater community tank which is doing fine, and I’ve started setting up a 10 gallon, with the aim of planting it fairly heavily to house a small school of some tiny fish and shrimps. The 20 gallon is about 30% planted and so far the plants are thriving with just natural light and fish waste fertilzer, but I’ll be adding Flourite a little at a time once I pick it up this week. Look forward to reading here and learning from everyone.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. (My bro is much better, thanks, Chris.) I’ll definitely be careful about the shrimp/fish combination. There’s plenty of time to research and to see what’s out there while I get the tank planted, and advice from anyone with shrimp experience would be very welcome.
