    Default Greetings from Kelowna

Hey all, new to Kelowna and new to the forum... Just getting into the wonderful world of planted aquariums and was hoping I could find someone local to supply/ship me some plants.

I have a 33gal with a pair of german blue rams, a small school of neon tetras, and some other assorted fish. You can find more info about my newbie setup here:

33 gal - doin' it right, from the start.

Welcome to BCA, check our classifieds plants section and PM some members to see if they're willing to ship. (I don't see why not, its 100% safe unlike livestock).

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Welcome to BCA, Jaguar !

We are an amalgamation of many different hobbyists here. There are dwarf shrimp, planted tanks, cichlid, goldfish/koi, pleco, catfish, betta, oddball, community, marine (FOWLR), and reef enthusiasts to name a few.

I have shipped plants in the past, however I don't do it during the winter months.

    Enjoy your time here !

    Best Regards,

    Stuart

Hey Jaguar, I'm pretty new to kelowna too. Kept fish for a long time and toying with the idea of starting up again. The main 2 things putting me off is Glenmore water and were planning on moving in march and a 55 gallon aquarium is a pain to move!

Had a look at your thread there. Tank is looking great

Thanks! I'm growing to dislike this tank really fast... black silicone is ugly, stand is ugly, light fixture is ugly (and not good enough for growing plants I'm afraid) ... I might sell it and get a new one AGAIN... I only paid $40 for everything so I don't really mind getting rid of it, but we'll see what happens when I save up a bit of money.

And I hear ya about the water... my pH out of the tap is like 8.2!!!

Yup... lol. They're so pretty, but I don't think I could handle the stress of having aggressive fish. My most aggressive fish at the moment is hands down my evil rainbow shark. He chases everything and anything that goes within his bubble. Jerk. I'll have to rehome him when he gets bigger anyways.

The rams seem to be doing okay, though. My DIY CO2 tends to keep it around 7.6-7.8. I'm going to go look for some peat to shove in the canister tomorrow to see if I can drop it a bit more.

And when I'm rich maybe I'll get a RO water system, too

My neon tetras are dying so I'm a liiiittle bit worried about NTD right now, but I think I just need to stop buying from trashy pet stores and skipping quarantine. Won't be doing it again.
