Default Hails to all BC aquarists <3

I've kept naturalistic vivaria/aquaria most of my life and now that I'm done college (and no longer in dorm) I'm getting back into herp & fish keeping. Currently have 1 nano, 1 cool 7 gallon planted, filterless glass vase, a 20gal and am building a 40gal (aquatic) planted tank and have plans for a 36bow front amazon stream palladium. One day I'm hoping to have space and money for a large brackish tank. So I'm sure I'll need much advice.

    My favourite species:
    danio margaritatus /Galaxy Rasboras
    Apistogramma and rams
    Congo and Emperor tetras
    Endlers
    Killifish
Oddities!!! Mud skippers, leaf fish, banjo catfish, puffers etc..

I'm on a bit of a budget and looking to find a good source of inexpensive plants. I'd love to find some american flagfish, endlers, apisto pairs and female blue/black/purple emperor tetras too!

I live in Vancouver and am hoping to check out some of the local aquatic society meetings. I went to both websites couldn't find when the next meetings were so if anyone knows pass it along to me.

    Cheers!

    Welcome Babylon,
Strange that some of your favorites happen to be mine too. While I'm a confirmed Discus enthusiast, I also love Celestial Pearl Danios/Galaxy Rasboras, Rams, Killifish and Endlers.
If you're ever looking to pick up some of those, or some other exotic oddities, check with April Ross - April's Aquarium on Dunbar @ 41st in Kerrisdale. She has a warehouse in Richmond with 140 tanks and has all kinds of different exotic fish available for those looking for something a little different.
    Best of luck,
    Paul

    welcome to the 'hood:-)

Since you're looking for plants (and if you've got nothing better to do on Monday, July 25) come on out to PoCo for a social in support of seniors. (see this thread) Door prizes include Christmas moss and naja grass.
