    Default hello!

My first aquarium and first forum membership...I have a 29g Aqueon, planted freshwater set up for 1 year now. I have built it up slowly with tetras. The water in my area is naturally very soft and acidic. Currently building up my Neon school (5 now), 6 Black Phantoms and 1 Otto. Plan on getting few more Neon, another Otto and a small school of some other small tetra. I have Arcadia 'original tropical' light over my tank-it really brings out the green/blue/red colours. Had lots of trial and error on my part, started with fake plants and hated the look. Tried to add tannins with bog wood and crashed my tank because it was already acidic-result was huge fish and plant loss. No more bog wood! (Tank is fully recovered now) I do 25% H2O change weekly (+ swish filter out in old tank water), Amazon Elements liquid fert for plants, and add API stresszyme+ when I change the filter. That's about it! I love this hobby more & more each day...
