Hey Mferko, i will do my best to get them up. only have 8 right now, there still small but I have 2 bumble bee 2 Yellow labs, 2 jewels and 2 Auratus.

It seems though that, from what i've been reading that i should have a nice sandy substrate right now i have gravel is this true??
Like I said I'm still new to this and it's my first go with Chiclids..

some smaller species that do alot of digging like shellies prefer sand but yours should be fine with gravel ive kept yellow labs with black gravel before.

    Welcome to BCA!!!

I also keep african cichlids. Right now I got a group of yellow labs and a group of yellow tail acei's. Planning to add a small group of demasoni cichlids later on too . I also had a gravel substrate maybe about a month or two ago but then switched to sand. I've noticed they love it more then the gravel hehe.
